(Let's Travel To Pune)


Hi Friends! Do you Know? Where Am i Right now? This is one of my favourate place, Pune. It is around150 km from Mumbai. Whenever i get time, I come Pune and go at many places. Today, I will let you know about Pune.
Pune is the second largest city in the Indian state of Maharashtra, after Mumbai.It is the ninth most populous city in the country with an estimated population of 3.13 million.The city is considered to be the cultural capital of Maharashtra. It is also known as the "Oxford of the East" due to the presence of several well-known educational institutions.
if you want to see India's culture, tradition, technology, history together then come Pune. this
 The city is also called a city of virtue. Pune was first known as PuneWadi.

Pune is a sprawling city in the western Indian state of Maharashtra. It was once the base of the Peshwas (prime ministers) of the Maratha Empire, which lasted from 1674 to 1818. It's known for the grand Aga Khan Palace, built in 1892 and now a memorial to Mahatma Gandhi, whose ashes are preserved in the garden. The 8th-century Pataleshwar Cave Temple is dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva.

History of Pune
Wikipedia says: Pune was part of the Jagir (fiefdom) granted to Maloji Bhosale in 1599 for his services to the Nizamshahi (Ahmadnagar Sultanate) Pune was ruled by the Ahmadnagar Sultanate until it was annexed by the Mughals in the 17th century. Maloji Bhosale's grandson, Shivaji, the founder of the Maratha Empire, was born at Shivneri, a fort not far from Pune.Pune changed hands several times between the Mughals and the Marathas in the period 1660 to 1705.

1. Shaniwar Wada
Shaniwar Wada is a very old Historical place. Built as a dwelling for Peshwas, its foundation was laid by Bajirao I in year 1730 AD.
2. Aga Khan  Palace
the palace is now the headquarters of the Gandhi National memorial society and Spread over a vast land of 19 acres.
3. Natioanal War Museum
The museum owes its existence to the efforts and contributions of countless people from all walk of life. 

4. Paravati Hill Temple
the temple was built in the 17th century by Balaji Baji Rao. 108 steep flights above, is the temple on a hillock from where one can behold some of the most beautiful views of the city.



5. Pataleshwar Cave Temple
This Temple is dedicated to Shiva. This temple has a Shivling.

6. Katraj Snake Park
It is a very beautifull park. you can visit it.
